Since October 7, 2024, community member Steve Sirkis has been on two missions to Israel. He has experienced firsthand the pain, grief, and resilience of the IDF, survivors and their families, witnessing their unwavering spirit and strength amidst the ongoing conflict. Join Steve as he shares tales of divine providence and inspiration from the front lines in the holy land.
Yoni Viloga, 28, was born and raised in Kibbutz Mefalsim. He studied architecture at Tel Hai College in Northern Israel and works as a project manager in a construction company. Yoni enjoys competitive running, traveling, cooking and volunteering with the elderly. On October 7th Yoni and his family defended their house when terrorists infiltrated their kibbutz, showcasing courage amid danger. Yoni will be joining us in person to share his account of events that happened that fateful day.

Jacob Katz grew up in Mequon and is now twenty-eight, living in Tel Aviv. He moved to Israel at twenty to join the IDF and served in the paratroopers (tzanchanim) unit. Currently, Jacob works at a small investment fund in Tel Aviv. He enjoys playing sports and visiting with friends in his free time. On October 7th, like many others in Israel, Jacob was at home when he was awakened by the sounds of sirens and rockets. He will share his account of the months following that day, his experiences in the reserves unit fighting in northern Israel, and what daily life is like in Israel during the war.
