וְעָ֥שׂוּ לִ֖י מִקְדָּ֑שׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖י בְּתוֹכָֽם
In the book of Exodus we find G‑d’s command and promise: “Make Me a Sanctuary and I will dwell within them.”
The verse does not say: “within it,” but “within them.”
This means that each one of us need to also make our own homes in to "Sanctuaries."
It is our responsibility to bring the G‑d's presence into our personal homes,
and to make the place where live a holy place - to create “mini sanctuaries."
This is done by studying Torah, praying and doing Mitzvahs in our homes.
Today, with the requirements for social distancing and stay at home orders,
we are given the opportunity to successfully implement this in the most holistic way.
Now more than ever, there is prayer, Torah study and Jewish observance in all of our homes.
With this in mind, The Peltz Center for Jewish Life
has begun a major initiative. to assist each family in our community,
to bring holiness and blessings into their home by making Every Home a Sanctuary.
