Noach 5764 - October 31, 2003

Story
Fans and Players

"How was the game?" asked the Rebbe. "By the sixth inning," the young fan confessed, "the Dodgers were losing nine-to-two. So we decided to leave."
Parshah
Noach in a Nutshell
Noah is instructed to build the Ark; the rain begins to fall and the entire world is flooded. A year later Noah and his family leave the ark, build an altar and offer sacrifices to G‑d. Noah’s descendants build a tower to “fight G‑d,” and are dispersed across the face of the earth.
Parenting
Dignity

Okay, so I yelled a little too loudly when I yelled at my daughter. Okay, so maybe she didn’t deserve as much of my anger as I let out. But, she did deserve some of it, didn’t she? I mean, could I just let it pass? Not say anything? Who would she become, then?
Living
A Driving Lesson

The clock on my dashboard showed 12:50 pm. My youngest son usually arrives home from school shortly after one o'clock, so I would have ample time before he rushed through the front door, and even some extra minutes to spare
Mind and Emotion

Our subconscious "mind" finds its expression in the way we think, and the subconscious "emotions" come into play in the way we speak
And G‑d smelled the sweet savor; and G‑d said in His heart: I will not again curse the earth any more because of man, for the impulse of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.
— Genesis 8:21
